Here’s happy little mel mel in her bright pink diaper. Happy as can be. She doesnt usually like to be put down!
This morning i got tons of smiles! Which lit me up for most of the day! Its wonderful to see my tiny babe grinning at me =) Also had an abundance of milk this am, which is a good thing! I have to return my WIC pump soon, and chad let me order my new one! Yay!
I am going to try to make a web site that will intergrate the blog, Melody’s pictures, growth chart and Guestbook; so that we all have one place to visit, rather than several 😉
Other than that, just alot of stress on my shoulders, that im sure will work itself out! Always does.
Keep praying for little melody to grow and get well!
Well, it didnt go how i thought it would. Melody weighed in at 7 1/2 pounds, which is only 5 ounces in nearly two weeks. =( So we are supplementing again with formula until she is back on track. She also had her RSV shot today.
She is continuing her meds for now, as she is still not better. She has also been put into a “high-risk” category.
Please pray for our precious love to gain weight and fight off this terrible infection.
Our next visit is on January 15th for her two month shots!
As always, it has been crazy. Auston’s schedule changed the first week of this month. I wont go into the details of that, but it has thrown the entire family for a loop. Its very depressing at the least.
Melody doesnt seem to be doing much better at all. Which is disapointing. She still is weezing, sneezing, and her eye boogers came back full force, so im guessing the eye infection has reappeared =( She has been very crabby the last few days. So i spend the entire time chad is at work with her in my arms, on my lap, or in bed with her, trying to console her. Its very rough with other children in the house. Summer usually runs covering her ears (after singing to her, and figuring out it wont work), Chase doesnt seem to be bothered often at all. He usually looks at her with endless curiosity. I think hes trying to differentiate her cries. Its cute. Auston, well hes always in her face trying to make her smile, smothering her in kisses and loving on her when she wails! Precious babes they are!
Semi- off topic: Chase asked me today why Chad worked so much. And my simple response was, because mommy isnt working right now… He pondered on that thought a bit, then asked me why i didnt work. I explained to him that melody is very sick and very susecptable to getting sick, so mommy needs to stay at home so she doesnt get her sick, and mommy needs to be here to care for her, and feed her. He sat back thinking, then said, “You’re a great mom!”. I was in shock! He continued “You love her so much to give up your job, and we still get to see you everyday after school! I love you mommy, you’re the best.”
And my heart swelled with his love. It was precious!!
Melody sees the dr tomorrow for another RSV shot. Shes a little over 8 weeks old now! She also has a bum rash that has gotten blistery, so i will update as soon as we know something!
Much love to all!
As promised, the growth chart as of the last apt!

She still has the respitory infection, much trouble breathing and lots of boogers. Yucky! Now she has developed a really bad bum rash. Its blistered, and looks like its to the point of bleeding. We see the dr Thursday for her second rsv shot, in the meantime, im trying every ointment on the market! I hope it goes away soon, she screams in pain for every diaper change.
She has gotten really well about holding her head up, and pulling herself across the floor when shes mad (strong, persistant little one!). She gets frustrated that she cannot control her arms though. Shes very very wiggly! hehe!
She has also started opening her eyes for abour 30-45 minutes at a time, and going crosseyed stairing at things. She now responds to noises, looking in the direction in came from. I have gotten a few smiles, but it doesnt happen daily yet.
We are still nursing very well. no more formula at all. I still pump during the day so she can have her night time daddy bottle. She loves her daddy time! Working on uploading new pics to photobucket, i have a great pic of a half smile from her!!
